DTR Automotive & Towing is a proud family-owned business serving Closter, NJ for over 40 years. Our story began with Patrick O'Brien, a dedicated Air Force mechanic who dreamed of owning his own shop. In 1984, that dream became a reality with the opening of DTR Automotive & Towing. Now, under the leadership of Patrick's son, Kyle O'Brien, DTR continues the tradition of putting customers first and upholding strong family values.   I was recommended to DTR by my boss. My check engine light came on and I knew I would need to fix it to pass inspection. I felt like they went above and beyond to help me fix my engine problems. They were also nice enough to break down pricing/parts down for me and kept me updated with the entire process. This was one of the best experiences I’ve had with an auto shop.   Very good and professional service! I highly recommend them.  I needed my car towed to the shop and called them the night before to ask if they could pick it up at a certain time the next day and DTR  was here at my place on time .   Great team at DTR.  They were so helpful when Park Ave Acura "didn't complete" all the work the car needed.... I brought it right over to DTR who not only did the work in record time but offered to get an estimate for minor body work I needed while they had the car.   Attempted to be an at-home mechanic to hook up some lights and accessories. Learned the hard way that the engine bay in a bottomless abyss for small parts...

Couldn't even drive the truck out of the driveway because of the battery disconnected with no parts. DTR went above and beyond to tow, service, and replace the missing parts.   I recently had the pleasure of working with Kyle at DTR, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the experience. From start to finish, the process was smooth and easy.

First and foremost, Kyle was incredibly knowledgeable about my car and able to diagnose the issue quickly. Not only that, but they were able to explain the problem to me in terms that I could understand, which I really appreciated.

Once we had a plan of action, the work was completed efficiently and effectively. DTR employees kept me informed throughout the entire process, letting me know what was happening every step of the way. They even went above and beyond to make sure that everything was working properly and that I was satisfied with the work that had been done.
